The Electrical Mechanic will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical and mechanical systems in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This role requires a strong electrical background, hands-on experience in a manufacturing setting, and proficiency in PLC troubleshooting. Candidates must be available to work 3rd shift and be open to overtime, including weekends and holidays as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting (food manufacturing preferred).
- Strong working knowledge of PLC troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.). Specialized Output PLCs: Relay, Transistor, and Triac PLCs
- Expertise in industrial electrical systems, including 480V 3-phase power, control circuits, and low-voltage systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Experience working with automation systems, sensors, HMIs, and industrial networks.
- Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and megohmmeters.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Must be able to work the 3rd shift and be available for overtime, including weekends and holidays.
- Technical certification or an associate degree in electrical or industrial maintenance or a related field is preferred.
- Licensed or certified in Industrial Electrical Maintenance (a plus).
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform tasks that involve standing, climbing, bending, and working in confined spaces.
Responsabilities
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-temperature, and noisy environment typical of food manufacturing.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems, automated production equipment, and machinery.
- Diagnose and resolve PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) issues, including troubleshooting for Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar systems.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints to identify and fix malfunctions.
- Install, repair, and maintain motors, VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), sensors, relays, switches, and industrial control systems.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Ensure compliance with NFPA 70E electrical safety standards, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with maintenance and production teams to enhance plant performance.
- Test, calibrate, and troubleshoot electrical systems to ensure optimal functionality.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation of work performed.
- Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and plant improvement projects.
